Wines are expected to arrive between February and June and you have 10 days to pick up your wines once you are contacted. A lot of the wines were First-Growths, but it did have some Pontet-Canet at $89.99 and others. Leoville Barton was sold out. The price on it was $89.99.

I know there is a lot frustration with the '05 pricing and most people that are buying '05s have probably already ordered through futures. I have never seen anything like this at Costco before and I am assuming it is new. I just wanted to let everyone know in case there was some interest.

I think Costco is notifying people today or tomorrow if they got any or all the wine they "reserved". Has anyone been notified about an allocation?

I got the call yesterday, they have the whole allocation I requested Smile They said my local store will call me soon and tell me when I can come by and pick it up. If not picked up within 10 days of the call, the wine is released.

Picked up some 2004 Catena Alta Malbec today for $35.99. They had an overfilled bin (more than a case) of Don Melchor also, thought and hoped it was the 2005 but it was the 2004.

I have not been notified. I only wanted a few bottles of Pontet-Canet. I called my local store last Thursday and they said the buyers were in the process of reviewing the orders and making the calls. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can snag some.

The north east regional buyer for Costco called last week and confirmed my reservation for 2005 wines. I recieved all I ordered. She said some selections are now sold out. This was Costco's attempt to manage their buy of the expensive 2005's They will be delivered over the next two to six nonths during the normal release times for each supplier.
I purchased at the Arlington VA Costco.
Good drinking!

I spoke with the buying auditor at my store and she assured me that my order was confirmed, and now we are just waiting on the wine to arrive. I'm not sure I believe her - it seems like no one at Costco really knows what is going on. If get the extra case, great. If not, I just saved $1100!

I finally got the call yesterday. I asked the lady how many bottles from my order were going to be "reserved" for me, and she said she didn't know. However, she did confirm that, at the minimum, I will be getting a portion of the order. Weird as it sounds, I was actually comforted by this. I was worried that I was getting nothing.

Scored two items today at MDR location...twelve bottle Vinotemp fridge for $60.00 and mag of 1999 dom for 199.97! Not cheap, but qualifies for a bargain these days! I recall buying the 1993 mags for $160 at costco a few years back on clearance too.

They still have mags of Trilogy among others reduced...none were up my alley, buy worth a try!

Happy hunting!
