Most Sauvignon Blanc around the world is bottled within 6 months of harvest and it never sees a barrel. Figure an April-May harvest, October-November bottling, stick it on a boat, and it's in a Costco near you by December.

Costco Carlsbad, Royal Tokaji Wine Co., Red Label $20.99.
WTH are they doing with this wine? Petrus in Palm Desert, now this. Who do these people think they are? They are making a mockery of wine snobbery. Commoners shouldn't be allowed to acquire this wine.

Dave, I was talking to Sea about this, he said he paid 90 for it in hoserville, and thought it was a good deal. I've been meaning to get it, but I don't know what I'd do with 750 of sauternes, my wife doesn't care too much for it, and I was hardly able to finish a 375 of the 03 Lafaurie-Peyraguey (which was awesome)by myself. How long does this stuff hold after you've opened it?

90? Yikes. Surely a typo?
Depends on a lot of factors, such as how often you open it. You can open a decent Sauternes, drink a glass and then recork it and stick it in the fridge - a week later it should be as good if not better.
If you drank one glass every night for five or six nights it should still be good on the last night, probably peaking on the third. I've drunk a 375 over 3 days like that with no problem.
There's still about a glass left over from last night. Maybe I'll experiment with it and see how it goes

"90? Yikes. Surely a typo?" that's what I said, but that led us to another discussion about how much more expensive wine is in Canada as opposed to the U.S. (especially costco) and the governmental regulations and all that.
