The entire Bay Area is sold out of the Leoville Barton, with the exception of Sand City near Monterey.

Nobody is forcing you to live in New York.

So did anyone here actually benefit from Powell's tip, or was it all pretty much gone by the time he posted?

Any chance for Florida to get 2003 Leoville Barton ? Is the chance slimmer than hitting three number of lottery? Confused

Once again Southern Calif Costcos show how much they suck @ss. They won't have the Barton or any other decent Bordeaux.
The selection down here is a joke...

Tom, there are 2 Costcos on LI that have wine stores in them. No top Bordeaux, but a lot of good stuff and always cheaper than any retail store out here.

I always find better deals online though.

Foster City, CA

2003 Coutet $36
2003 Smith Haut Lafitte $42

No Leoville Barton and the prices on the two above are just average.

So, I swung by Costco, and they actually had a Fonseca 2003 Port so I grabbed one - $75. Seemed like a good deal, what do you all think?
Also stocked up on my everyday stuff - prices are SO good.

Again, thanks so much for all the help!

DRAB cleaned out the 2 cases at Santa Cruz before I got there! I'd wish Costco has set a minimum per customer. Their response was they are a wholesaler and that's exactly what they did!!

Ditto. I also asked them to hold some for me but they wouldn't - that's not their policy either.

Fortunately I kept calling them every so often to make sure they hadn't sold out yet so I didn't end up driving all the way there for no reason.

Sometimes branches will set a limit per person - Santa Clara put a 3 limit on 2001 Suduiraut two years ago - but even then it's not in the computer so the checkout staff don't know that there is a limit to enforce.

Scottsdale, AZ
(I'm told that this store sells more wine than any other store in the nation...still no Leoville Barton)

Angelini Val di Suga BdM '00 90 pts $39.99
E. Guigol CNDP '01 93 pts $34.99
Vigneti Solnotto Altinasso Barolo Cavalier Bartolomeo '00 92pts 59.98
Castello di Neive Barbaresco Santo Stefano '01 90pts 27.99

No numbers, had nothing to write with.

I think these are good prices...they're lower than what WS Online lists as retail.
