What does an item # matter if there are no Costco's in your area that carries it?

I also don't think that other locations will honor the "bargain" price that you found it from another store.

With item#, just makes it easier for them to search the inventory for you.

When the 2001 Rieussec was hitting Costco, there were people driving good 6 hours to hunt them down...

Or, you may also get a phone call from a fellow forumite on the other coast telling you there are some Rieussec sitting near by when you are barely awake on a Sunday morning... Wink

Stopped by the CostCo Signal Hill in Long Beach, CA on my way home from work to see if they had any 2002 Bordeaux...nope. But I did find about 2 cases of 2001 Concha y Toro Cabernet Sauvignon Don Melchor at $32.99 a bottle. There were 11 there when I left. Oh, and the item number is 97361.

I don't know what nut-jobs run the Costco's in Illinois and California. I don't see half the stuff these guys see.

Sry, no item number, but I think it's been posted already.

The Austin, Texas one didn't have too much to purchase. I didn't see any Don Melchor there at all, but oddly enough, Sam's Wholesale had a ton...this was when I was visiting my parents a month ago in a town of 80k people (the Sam's that is). I'm going to visit my parents again this weekend...time to hit up Sam's.

Don't have a Cosco any where near us but we do have a Sam's Club. Anyone have any good buys there?

Believe it or not, three years ago I bought a bottle of 1990 d'Yquem from the Sam's Club in Farmington, Michigan for $199. It was just sitting there all by its lonesome. I remember the look the cashier gave me when I paid for it.

If you are referring to the one off of the Tollway and Park Lane, not when we went there on a wine crawl a few weeks ago. I have found good selections at the location off of 75. It's a hit or miss situation. Sometimes they have good wine, sometimes they sell out of good wine and have mediocre wine.

I found it amazing that my local costco had all of the 02 first growths. Cases were all sold out in less than 3 days. I didn't buy any because the Latour was gone when I got there.

CostCo in Signal Hill, Long Beach, CA has both the Ch. Margaux '02 and the Ch. Lafite Rothschild '02 for $99.99. Not sure on the quantity in stock as they aren't displayed on the floor. I don't have the item numbers but will edit this later and fill 'em in.
