I just found 3 bottles of 97 Pine Ridge Andrus Reserve for 70$ a bottle. Is that a good deal? I've had it a few times before in a resturant and loved it. I figure I'd open one of the bottles for V-day.
The 1997 Andrus Reserve is an 87 point wine according to Parker, and I agree. This Bordeaux Blend seems to always be out of balance and a difficult wine of enjoy. Since Pine Ridge only produces 900 cases, the price is very high at approx $125, so $70 is a lower price for this wine. But who wants to pay $70 for a bottle that is rated 87 points. Pass on it!
One more thing, the 1991 Andrus Reserve was the best Pine Ridge produced, IMO. Parker did not rate it but I would give it 92/93 points. The hightest rated by Parker was the 1994 & 1995 at 90 points. (Gary Andrus is no longer affiliated with Pine Ridge)
Thanks Latour67. I'll just have to open either a 97 Stags Leap Cask 23 or a Whitehall Lane cab reserve instead being those are the only nice bottles I have that are drinkable now.
