I love wines with long finishes. I was reading a TN that described a finish that lasted well longer than a minute. what wine that you've had has the longest finish?

1979 Southern Comfort, from the bottle. I still taste it and have almost the same violent reaction. Red Face

Oh, wrong thread. Good original question - I will re-think this..... Frown Red Face

The longest finishes I can remember have been dessert wines of riesling or scheurebe grape sources, particularly Kracher wines.

I'll agree on the dessert wines. TBAs, Sauternes, and the like in general have the longest finishes of wines I've tasted.

German ice wine/eiswein. It just coats your mouth and lingers for what seems like five minutes.

I tried an '83 Kopke Colheita a couple of weeks ago. It had a finish that I could still taste even after moving on to another two wines. In fact, it actually skewed my palate for the rest of the day; in a good way, though, if that makes sense?

Agree with mneely490 on ports, long finishes.

VPs need to be fairly mature but any particularly good Aussie tawney can last and last.

Then there's the last two minutes of any NCAA tourney college basketball game, talk anout long finishes. Almost time for the madness.
