Found this on close-out....6 pk in wood box for $70.
Ive never had this port or one from the 98 vintage.
Can anyone tell me if this is worth picking up a few.
Thanks.(no one was biting on the buying/selling forum)

If that is really a six pack for $70.00 and not $70.00 each then I'd buy them in a heartbeat. The six pack is worth twice that and the wine inside is probably a high 80's wine that will be ready to start drinking in a year or so.

It is the 6pk for $70 in the nice wood box. I was told the distributor was just trying to move some wine to make space for new stuff coming in...
Thanks for the help...may get 4 or 5...gifts and such.

I tasted the 98 Vesuvio once, and liked it a lot. $70 for a sixpack is a steal. I hardly ever see them cheap here, and with cheap I mean something like 30-35 euros a bottle.

So, buy all you can! Big Grin

TXAGS, where are you located? I'd share that purchase with you or I'll stop by and pick up your leftovers. Big Grin

Need I add that $70 is indeed a great price IF it is indeed for a sixpack? I'd buy all they had. $70 per bottle seems more likely, which would make it a "fair" deal at best.
It's a very nice Port, BTW: I've posted a TN here. A price of $36 a bottle is quoted as well...

That price sounds too good to be true. Any chance they were left on the loading dock for a couple of weeks in the heat? Even then, it's a great price!

When's your next trip to Ottawa?

snow sucks, cold is worse.......
