Local store had some on the shelf yesterday. I might go back and clean them out today (think they had another 2 or 3) if I can find enough "trade in" bottles as my wife had cut my wine budget back to $0. Roll Eyes Big Grin

I wouldnt be surprised if most stores put stock for the Jan 7 release out early this week. There hasnt been a release in almost 4 weeks now and the shelves are pretty bare due to the X-Mas/New Years rush.

That's exactly what happened. Bare shelves, mainly crappy wines from a week release and also many of the Vintages consultants took this week off after the holiday craziness.

AAV, that may still happen. Big Grin I am crossing my fingers that she LOVES the 2002 Echezeaux when I open one this month. If she doesn't, I may have to flood Brooklin, Ontario's LCBO with a case of assorted DRCs. Wink Big Grin

Actually, if I did that, I could likely just but them back in a few years. Not that they would fly off the shelf here. Big Grin

I'm back....

As I just posted on eBob... Tanzer, Meadows, Coates and all other reviewers that know Burgundy rated these wines very highly. This one guy that admits he doesn't really know Burgundy posts that the DRC GE and RSV suck. I really don't think any of us should be panicking and selling these wines anytime soon.

Then again, if I (or YOU) try them and hate them, that's a different story. I could care less what the critics think about a wine I have tasted and dislike, but I do trust some of them regarding expansive wines that I only buy a bottle or two of and won't be opening any time soon.

Smile

P.S. I am FAR from an expert on red Burgs either. I have had a bunch over the last year or two and am just starting to be able to appreciate some of the good ones.

I'm back....

AAV,

Roughly how much was the 03 Pavie Macquin? I think it was $115 here.

It's only January 3rd, and if you add up the wines I've purchased and just received from the Classics catalogue, as well as what I've bought from auctions, private order, friends, and LCBO, I've blown the budget for the next 4 months!
Unbelievable.
