Ah, the incomparable GigondAss. Case in point, case in point. Did I mention that Mr. Ass is the biggest troll on the boards?

Hey GA: Clicky.

You're still a bigot.

Your momma must be proud.

Folks,

- The first people to bring up my certs were other forum members (check it out in the Goldstein thread).

- I "waved" the certs because those members said they were fakes.

- I never once said in any post that the forum members here know nothing about wine, and I never once said I knew any more than any other forum member. I have, though, endured several other members tell me that I know nothing about it (this is after that admitted they refused to check me out outside of the forum, so not sure exactly how the conclusion was reached).

- There are lots of respected wine bloggers who don't use this forum (and probably many others that do).

- You can believe whatever you like about whether or not I want to drive traffic to my blog from here. I haven't noticed any appreciable increase in the traffic numbers.

- I do understand the points about rehashing, etc. It makes for crap reading, I know. I'm only trying to make a point here, that being more welcoming would serve the forum better. You're probably rejecting people that can make valuable contributions here.

I'll bow to the majority opinion and stop posting on this thread now, with my appolgies to those reasonable who've had to endure my borderline diatribes. I'm just not the kind who sits back when attacked. Search the few posts I've done here, and you'll find that I agree to reasonable criticism about me and change my viewpoint correspondingly.

First thing I remember you posting that has some truth to it.

Just one more sip.

Please allow me to congratulate WS forum members on their good sense.

Just one more sip.

Thanks for the summary.

Individual feuding aside, I have a pretty thick skin, and I have been a wine forum host for years, but even I have lurked more than posted because of the lack of moderation and courtesy here. Pointing out the total board membership is meaningless, because there are only a few dozen names that one sees participating. The fact is, until this board grows up a bit and either has active moderators or becomes self-policing, the board IS losing valuable potentials.
