This has happened to me now twice in a row. I bought a 2006 Mollydooker Enchanted Path and I was sent the 2006 Carnival of Love instead. Can't complain, the COL is selling for much more.
I also bought 4 bottles of 2000 Chateau Guiraud and was sent the 2001 instead which sells for much more. I actually ended up paying for 4 bottles what 1 bottle costs. These were mistakes in my favor but how often does this happen to you? Or do you receive something that is nothing like what you ordered? |

I have never received anything other than what I've ordered. Not once.
If I received something other than what I ordered, either more or less valuable, I'd contact the retailer and let them know. So, what did you do? PH |

Yep, I agree, the only right thing to do is to contact them. Most likely they'll say sorry and give you the choice of whether to send it back or keep it. Goodwill is, well, a good thing.

I did, they left me positive feedback and that was that |

Once I ordered some wine from my local shop that was featured in a special tasting. The wine I received was the next vintage, not the one tasted. I pointed this out, and they refunded my money (new vintage was not as good as the older one). Simple. No problems. Not controversial.

I once ordered 5 bottles of 2002 Rieussec. They sent me 5 bottles of 2002 R de Rieussec. I contacted them; they apologised and arranged for the shipment to be returned and replaced.
The second shipment arrived - again there were 5 bottles of R de Rieussec. I contacted the shipper - they said it didn't make sense for them to keep paying to ship back and forth, so I should keep the 5 and they'd send me my Sauternes. Sadly third time was a charm. http://scmwine.wikispaces.com http://scmwine.blogspot.com http://blogs.sun.com/davetong http://twitter.com/davetong |

Yes, WineLibrary. But they quickly corrected the order.

I bought a 6 pack of 2000 latour
and get sent a 6 pack of 2000 latour a pomerol. The store took it back and said they misprinted it in the computer and that they didn't have it in stock. At least I got my money back, was a good chunk of change. |

Hell, with the WOTY craze last year, you probably could have flipped the TN into a case and a half of Cerretalto. -IB PSA: Please report gratuitous trolling/flaming immediately (little triangle at bottom right). |

At a restaurant I was once sent a 2002 Lafite instead of a 2000 Senejac. I sent it back with only a mild twitch.

Unfortunately the Cerretalto was selling for much more than the TN at the time. I had already sold a case and a half of the TN, I didn't need anymore of it. |

I've had it happen a couple of times. Both times I got a "better" wine, or at least more expensive. And both times when I contacted the winery they said that they had run out of what I ordered so substituted something better that they had. I didn't complain, but I'd have liked a note in the shipment to tell me that so I wouldn't have had to call.
When in doubt, open another bottle. |

Happened to me once, from winebid. They criss crossed a shipment. A simple phone call straightened everything out right away.

Sticky, I'll take a guess and say it was from WineCommune... ?

Exactly. Winecommune is great but there are ups and downs. One time I never even received a wine at all. The guy finally shipped it, and the package on the day it was supposed to arrive was returned to sender. This happened three more times, until after 5 weeks of persistently complaining I got a refund. Most of the time I get exactly what I was supposed to get quickly though. |

I had a similar experience with J.J. Buckley Co., which is the WineCommune consigner. I was shipped some other guys wine back in Oct or Nov, and I can only conclude he was shipped mine. I sent his back to WC, but they said they couldn't definitively answer where mine went, and couldn't get in touch with the other buyer, after repeated attempts. They finally had to just credit my account. Still ticks me off, though. So Sticky2, do you have my 2000 Woodward Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon Old Vines, 2001 Isenhower Cellars Wild Alfalfa Syrah, 2005 Wegeler Riesling Kabinett Rudesheimer Berg Schlossberg Riesling, and 2004 Prum, Joh Jos Riesling Kabinett Graacher Himmelreich Riesling? Huh? *********** You never see crazy people walking the streets, screaming about atheism, do you? |

I am still a bit ticked off about that too but only because I know I will never again be able to get that price for that particular wine. Seemed too good to be true and it was. I don't have any of those, curious as to why you asked? |

That was in my shipment that went missing.
It was a joke, son. *********** You never see crazy people walking the streets, screaming about atheism, do you? |

Winecommune once sent me a 3 liter bottle (yes 3L) of an Italian wine I never bought. I notified them and they sent a UPS pick up for it and a couple Cote de Rhones gratis for "my honesty". May explain how a couple purchases of mine have "disappeared".

sticky, ... it is easy to understand why u got CoL instead of enchanted path ,.... the labels are virtually identical to the average eye, ... plus , ... interestingly enuf, when one puts the two bottles beside each other one gets the 'whole' meaning of the these two wines, ... i will send u a link of the two bottles side by side (if i can find it), if u do not understand what i mean ....
...what ever the case, ...all of Mollydooker's products are fantastic... Dean Martin: "I feel sorry for people that do not drink; they wake up in the morning and that is the best that they feel all day" |

Actually, I understand what you mean completely, I have them both. They are not too hard to tell apart though, the cap on the Enchanted Path being blue and the Carnival of Love red. They can be identified just by the different color without even having to take the bottle out of the rack. The artwork is pretty cool though eh? |
