Thank you Mr. Mondavi for what you have done for California wine.

in 2001 I had dinner in Napa and he was sitting a table nearby and I was able to shake his hand and thank him for what he had done over the years. He was very friendly and personable. He will be missed by many.

There have been many influential people in the wine trade over the years. Writers, wine critics, wine makers, owners of wineries, large retailers, importers etc.

I can not think of anyone that has had a greater impact on domestic wine touring, consumption and wine education than Robert Mondavi. One of his most wonderful accomplishments was his never ending teachings about the importance of marrying food and wine together. He and Julia Child played a very significant role in this regard.

94 is a great run. I'm 44 now so 2058 would be a great run for me. Maybe I'll keep buying Bordeaux and Cdp for awhile. Razz

I don't get you at all. Why would you bump a thread that was on its way out to not really add anything of value? Plus there was another thread on Mondavi which had more recent posts so why choose this one at all?

I assume you mean well and I don't really have an issue with you but it is easy to see how you annoy many people.

It was the same thing when you bumped the NHL thread pointlessly to add nothing when there was a separate thread for the playoffs. I mean, it is like you go out of your way to be annoying.
