Which ones in particular, Keeno?
I was referring to the base cuvee in my response to thirsty man, but all the cuvees seem to be a big hit over there. Check here, here, here, and here. There are others, but I can't track them down.

KSC02: I have not tasted those, but JM has reviewed them and you can check out his TNs. Based on the notes, I gather that the Clos St. Jean is going to be more fruit forward and more modern than the Usseglio. Also, keep a lookout for the Clos du Mont Olivet base cuvee.

Besides the obvious big-hitters, feel free to recommend something that might be easy to overlook. (And yes, grossie, I'm all over the Cuvee Maximilien)
I added 6 x bousquet des papes CdP Chante Le Merle VV a few days ago.
Glad to see the St. Prefert Giraud ended up with a 100, but sorry to think of what that will do to prices for St. Prefert wines in the future. Anyone know how the Favier did with parker?

HAHA- I was just about to post a quoted reply to you when I noticed my name in it! Definitely buy that KSC. But be warned- this is a monster that needs time. My best bottles have shown well after being opened for 3 days or decanted for >8 hours. I encourage you to try a long decant, it's worth it.
The only ones of the CdPs that you've mentioned that I tried was Clos Des Papes, which I had at the Chateau in August. I paid about $75US for it there, so at $100 Can I think you're getting a steal. I know it's one of the obvious ones, but I gotta tell you that that is one hell of a wine! My bro & I were both blown away by it, and no, we were not intoxicated at the time. If this was my only real resource for 07 CdP I'd be buying at least a case of that fo' sho'.
******* Not looking good for next year either.

Premier Cru had a weekend deal awhile back. One bottle of 07 Clos St Jean, one 07 Usseglio and one 07 Cristia for $51 for the three so I bought a case. $17 a bottle was an awesome price.

Keeno - thanks for the tip on this producer.
Sure thing.
James Molesworth has been high on this domaine for a while and the prices have remained reasonable. We'll see though. I would hate for them to go the way of the Clos St. Jean stuff and Clos des Papes.

I've read you notes on the Maximilien and am forewarned.
Regarding the Clos des Papes, it seems that most retailers are getting 12 bottles per store. So you can bet that these will be heavily rationed (in the true SAQ manner).
Good luck, KSC. How does it work now? Do you put in a request to an individual store? Do you have to go in when they arrive and stake a claim? Do you have to pay off the store manager?
The nice thing about the US system of capitalism is that at least we all know it's crooked and that most of us are getting screwed. In the Canadian system there's a sense of a level playing field that hides the screwing from the average man which is very charming and quite Canadian!

Quite true.
Releases like the CdPs (and the 'Italian Morning' release next week) require one to choose the SAQ Retail Outlet they feel will best serve what they need and attempt to arrive before every one else to be at the door to collect your 'alloted amount' once they open.
Courrier Vinicole releases are different. You select the items you want from a catalog sent to you. Place the order by email or fax and await word of what you actually get.
Very interesting indeed. I think you should consider paying non-wino friends to go to many stores and wait for you. It seems the only logical strategy.

HA....a tried and true strategy, my friend. (one of several)
Only issues are: 1) limited number of 'non-wino' friends 2) most non-winos refuse to get up in the wee hours of the morning to stand in an SAQ line, paid or not.
