Why not sell it to some yahoo for an absurd amount of money and buy yourself a few bottles of good wine? This wine is one of the most obscene jokes that WS has ever foisted with their ridiculous WOTY proclamation of the '96 some years back, and CSJ has milked it for all it's worth, with grossly inflated prices and a herd of lemmings who are willing to shell out the coin for it. Hope you got yours at a good discount.

What did this wine ever do to you? I have never paid more than $40 for a bottle of wine, so I won't try it anytime time soon, but everytime it comes up...

Altos De Luzon 2002
Slightly beat out the Chateau Clarke, Baron Edmund De Rothschild 2001. I believe I scored the Clarke a point higher but in retrospect I preferred the Luzon. I also enjoyed the Summerland Pinot Noir (a varitel I am usually at odds with).

steve, I had the 1949 and 1959 several times in the late 1980s. How is the 1959 holding up?

Just one more sip.

mwagner - hold for a few more years - drinking very well right now but would benefit from a bit more cellar time. we were not able to decant and would have benefitted greatly from it.

why was it ridiculous? either you believe in WS' ratings system or you don't, but you seem to have serious issues with their wines...one word: relax

Red: Vieux Telegraphe 1990

White: I agree with Steve8, Moulin Touchais 1959. Board-O, the wine is still a little baby, with a perfect strucutre that really shows no signs of fatigue, a vibrant acidity, a perfect amount of sugars, etc.

Fortified: NV Gonzalez-Byass Matusalem

I'll have to say the 59 also like Impulse. Probably because it is a 1959 and it is not everyday that you drink a wine 20 years older than you are.

Roll Eyes Why waste your time and energy on questioning people's buying habits, or WS rating system? If you don't like the wine/rating then don't buy it/listen to it.

And to answer your question, I got it at Zachy's for $35.

Go HOKIES!!!

Red: 1994 Solaia
White: 2003 Ramey Hyde Vineyard Chard.

Both 95 point wines in my opinion.

Just drop a glop of whipped cream on top and drink it with a straw.

How about 2 years older than me. Red Face

Board-O, what Impulse said about the wines' youth.

By far 1994 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Clos Windsbuhl VT

I would say this is in the top 5 wines of my life, possibly occupying the #1 spot.

*******
Not looking good for next year either.
