I only have one bottle of this, and other wines from the same cellar (bought at LWS) have been excellent. Would you define "just about ready" as within an optimal window, or as hold? I've no problem in laying this one back down.

I think, unlike most 1986s I've had, it's within its drinking window. I wouldn't be in a hurry to drink it, but I don't think it will improve much.

Just one more sip.

Thanks for the additional thoughts. It's standing, and I have a date in mind, so will likely open this month.

Mangiare,

Let me know how the 1997 Lisini shows. It's been a few years since I've had one. It's delicious stuff.

Any chance you've had the 86 Clos du Marquis?
