I know that this should be in tasting section but I am too lazy to write up each wine...Recent offline at Pape's abode with the local Seattle crew. All were tasted blind except the last two

flight one:
Savoie Le Feu 2006: apples and honey mild some lemon aromas decent

Weimer Dry Riesling, 2007: Petroly nose, and then some steel like qualities, great balance of acid. pleasant wine

Clivi Galea Fruili, 2003: no notes

Le Roche Des Violettes, Chenin, 2006: My favorite of the whites. fruity and minerals, some green apples and pear.

Reds Flight 2(Pinot Noir)

Hamilton Russel, South Africa, 2006: wow what a wine, reminded me of central coast. Vegetal and earthy, ample fruit, my favorite

Chambolle Musigny Les Bussierres, 2000: Lighter in style an obvious French wine for me

William Selyem Flags Vineyardm 2003: A hot wine, totally unappealing, hot tannins and cherry overloads, Blah!!

Easthill, Shea, Oregon, 2004 No notes

Argyle 2005: Mucho Cherry.

FLight 3

Cadence Ciel Du Cheval, 2004: Long finish, very nice

Lopez Heredia Rioja Vina Tondunata 1987: Some barnyard funk, but blew off after about 30 minutes in the decanter. Ashy and great long length, Excellent wine

Ch. St George St Emillion 1999: Soft fruit, vanilla and firm tannins

Ch Pape Clement, 2000: Green peppers, plums Evolved into an great wine later in the evening. Give this wine some more time

Andrew Well 2001 Ciel Du Cheval: no notes

Non blind
1994 Cos D'estournel: tanninc and some fruit on the end. Firm and tight, even after two hours. Not sure how much more this will evolve

1970 Dow's: Huge, powerful, chocholate, floral and elegant a great wine to end the evening.

Aww mareff, I'm touched. The two wines I brought were your respective # 1's. Although I do have to say your Rioja was mine, I was amazed; I didn't think a Tempranillo dominated wine could age that well. Thank you for sharing that with us!
