I would open this one right now. It needs a lot of air.

I had a bottle last summer; decanted for over two hours; and it was still very powerful; lots of oak and dark fruit; strong tannins.

I'm guessing this wine will age well for another 5-7 years.

Good luck!

Going to grill up some dry aged Porterhouse steaks with it. Should be a good night.

Mezzo,
Enjoy the Gunderloch.
I know I have the '01-'03. Is the '04 a new release or have you had it a while?

I hope you will put up tasting notes on these! You should be one happy man with this line up!

For me, 1999 Trefethen. Good and ready now, not the best Merlot I have had, but better then many others I have had.

Last night, a 2006 Red Car Speakeasy Syrah... superb. Another great syrah from Red Car, along with the Shake, Rattle, Roll, and the Twenty Two. Glad I've got a few more of all three of them to enjoy in the future.

Tonight, a 2002 Luna Merlot, which is drinking quite nicely. In hindsight, at around $20 - $25, I should have picked up a bunch of these when my area Costco stocked them.

Good news, i just picked up a case of this last week and didn't plan to pop one for the next six months or so. Good to hear some positive testimonies.

Hey Dok. We had the '04 Riesling Spätlese (not Auslese) - typo. I love the reaction I get when I point out the smell of Petrol to my ameteur-wino friends. Rookies. Cool Wink

gigabit...we did not decant (the '02 Beringer cab PR) right away as this bottle was brought by one of my friends. Lots ! of tannins and alcohol. Very big wine, lots of fruit, and went superbly with my steak. But I think this wine will need at least another 3 - 5 years.
