Hey bman, if you're ever in Buffalo, go to Prime Wines. They sell Columbia Crest for major cheap.

I've only been there once in the past 20 years, but I'm occasionally near there. When I cross the border I tend to go for bigger-ticket wines, but thanks for the tip. Smile

I have just tried 2004 Heartland Shiraz from the upcoming release. Very good QPR in my opinion.
Excellent concentration, does not feel very young.
Loads of black fruit, a bit of tar and spice. 89-91 pt. Very good value indeed.
Will be posting a separate TN.

Duojet,

I'd love to pick up a couple bottles of Alion, but was unable to get out this morning. If you could help out I'd appreciate it.

I bought:

2004 MacRostie Carneros Chardonnay (375ml)
2002 MacRostie Carneros Pinot Noir (750ml & 375ml)
2002 "Napanook"
2002 Dominus (1500ml)

I think this is the first release in some time where I actually bought anything!

So, this seems like a good thread to ask this question, I am going to Niagara on the Lake this weekend, is there a wine or winery that I "must" try? I have the maps, but they all sound good. Thanks much!

Malivoire
Stratus

Flat Rock

FYI, you should probably just post a new thread next time as there are a number of ppl from the US and Canada who have info on this topic....Also posting something this "off topic" on someone elses thread is not generally considered good "webiquette." I'm sure the Ontario guys will forgive you just this one time though.... Big Grin Cool

Trust me, it is a must try. Crown Bench makes some weird stuff (chocolate infused as an example Frown) but this is really good stuff.

Crown Bench sounds fabulous, I really like trying unusual selections. We roll in Friday mid day and are doing Grimsby/Beamsville first. I look forward to it! Thanks again.

Wow. I'm not normally big on Cab/Merlot blends, but the Seppelt is very impressive, and an excellent QPR at $20.
