Found a 2004 Malescot St. Exupéry at a local for $43. After my pleasant experience with the '03, I grabbed it. Should have grabbed the other one left on the shelf. First entry in my 2013 good deal list.

I stop at $200 with this wine. It's worth every penny at that price, IMO, but that is my mental self-imposed 'cap' with this wine. If they're North of that (and I would suppose that they are once past '01, than there is no positive use poking my head in that bucket of temptation. But I thank you for offering to share.

I sincerely have no doubts about that. I loved those that I did have. A superb wine.

w-s does show the '97 available at $245 and under $300 for '93, '96 and '99. I could be tempted to bite at some of those. Once you hit 2000 prices got silly, IMHO

I'm really not a fan of this wine but I couldn't resist the 50% discount. I sure hope I appreciate the QPR on this one.

Interesting, I saw a '93 recently on sale for $120, but did not buy due to provenance concerns, and I do enjoy this Cabernet a great deal.

The tasting notes on Cellartracker don't seem overly enthusiastic and the undercurrent suggests this wine is possibly showing its age. The bottle looks in excellent condition and I was assured it was held in temp-controlled storage, but who really knows. Ultimately, the $80 price closed the deal for me.
