Depends on how you define "published". Copies of WS have been printed and are apparently arriving at the retail outlets. A top 10 list is circulating all boards courtesy of eBob.

len... with all the NJ e-mail lists you're on, you should just move up here. Smile As a side, I'll probably be headed there on Sat to sample it.

Go HOKIES!!!

I'd love to be closer to all the good wine shops up there. My sister in law lives in NJ... I should buy her a wine fridge and have her pick up my orders.

We were going up to NY/NJ today, but with our baby (born 10/30) and the bad weather forecast and the holiday traffic... we decided to stick around DC.

And of course now WS itself has added it to the website

However, I think this will be the year of the Syrah, with '02 Alban Reva and '03 Novy in the top 25 (or possibly '02 Carlisle). And #1 will be the '03 Two Hands Bella Shiraz. I also think we'll see an '03 Rosenblum Zin, either Crocker & Star or Kim Crawford SB, and '02 La Chablisienne Chablis in the top 10.

I expect a fair amount of pinots on the list too -- Kosta Browne, W.H. Smith, and an '02 Burgundy or two (were they reviewed this year or last?). But given how much WS seems to love Argyle, I wouldn't be surprised to see the '02 Argyle Nuthouse finish as the highest pinot on the list and very possibly in the top 10.

Finally got around to looking at the Top 100 list. So did anyone pick Insignia before it was announced. I see that Don Melchor finished in the top 5. I was wrong with my number one pick (Two Hands came in at 40), but certainly might have been the year of Shiraz/Syrah (though pinot might have nosed it out). I counted 12 in the top 100 (including 7 in the top 50) and that doesn't include any Rhones. Rosenblum had two Zins in the top 30 (#3 and #30), Crocker SB finished at #12. I was surprised that La Chablisienne finished so low (#61). I think 9 pinots and 3 burgundies made the list. And WS's love affair with Argyle continues with two making the top 100 -- a chard and a pinot (though neither finished in the top 50).

And not sure what it says about my cellar but I have none of the top 100 (though I didn't really expect to seeing that not a great percentage of my wine dollars this year went for current releases). But I only saw 6 wines from the list of which I have other vintages.

Very interesting stuff.

Don Melchor. One hell of a winery. It is again a serious contender for WOTY for '06.
