In the event you've not opened one yet, be sure to give this one plenty of breathing time, Board-O and it should show well. I've opened the '04 twice. One with a short decant and one with a 3-4 hour decant.

The second bottle showed much better than the first.

I saw this a half hour before dinner, so I took your advice and opened something else. I've previously found the Salanques to be an early drinker, but after your comment, I'll probably open one when I can wait if necessary. Sounds like a cheese course wine.

The 2006 needs about one hr of air. It is drinking nicely and consistent (3 bottles I've had)

2008 Domaine La Garrigue Côtes du Rhône Cuvée Romaine.

First wine that I actually enjoy after 10+ days of fighting a cold.

2006 Coho headwaters - much much better on the second night. A really fantastic wine for the $25 I paid.

2006 Rhys Alpine Vineyard Chardonnay - a shame we opened so early. It took almost 3 hours to open up.

2007 Stefania Uvas Creek Cab...accidentally. I didn't mean to open a bottle so soon but there was evidently a "communication issue" between the Mrs and I that led to its untimely demise. Good stuff though!

Granted '04 was a big vintage and, of the very few Spanish that I've actually opened, they all required a lot of air.

I could understand later vintages showing well with less cellar/decant time. This is a nice wine that I've errantly disregarded in the past due to not allowing it to open sufficiently.

2005 Domaine de Cristia Renaissance - very, very disappointing. I hope the wine is just in a bad period...
