Drinking well. I'd give it a decant and drink it. I'm not convinced that the 04-05 Saxums are wines for long term aging.

I think you are correct...the 04's are in a good enough place right now to go ahead and drink IMO. Feel free to cruise to the Central Coast and bring a Rocket Block

Thanks for that feedback. What, more specifically, do you personally refer to, GA, when you say 'long term aging'? I've got a couple of '05 Booker Vineyards that maybe now I'll drink another sooner rather than later. I originally opened one early on to check it out. Enjoyed and buried the other two.

The 04-05's seem to be pushing the envelope of ripeness and seem a bit flabby compared to the wines before then and after. I don't have any Booker, so I can't tell you about that particular one. I've recently drank some 02-03 Bone Rocks and they were in a pretty sweet spot.

2000 Pieve Santa Restituta (Gaja) Brunello di Montalcino Rennina. Magnifico. Fantastico. Propio delisioso. I was invited to a 'lunch meeting' today at Bosco Restaurant in Maple. If any of the TWC members ever get a chance to go, try the gnocchi all'Aragosta (gnocchi in a rose sauce with lobster). They have a small private room (probably seats 50?). I know you guys have many fine Italian restaurants to chose from for your TWC Anniversary Dinner, and I know many of you don't like to venture too far north of Steeles (or Finch for that matter), but this place has great food at pretty fair prices. Quantity is also a plus (no small pasta or meat dishes, unless you ask for a small portion).

You mean north of Eglinton? Anyway, thanks for the heads up. The 2004 Rennina I tasted last Thursday was very young but still quite fine.

Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like a strong recommendation and something I'll try with Mrs. DP for sure. Do they allow BYOW?

There was a line item on the receipt "open bar....$25" which obviously was the corkage fee. But I'm not sure if they allowed us to bring our own wine as a favour to my friend, who knows the owner, or whether they offer BYOW to anyone. I'll ask for you Doc. Send me an email to remind me though

Late last night, we had the urge to open a 1996 Veuve Cliquot Rose.
Just one more sip.
