LWS had 15% off the entire store yesterday, including their "cellar room". Got both of these for under $100 including tax.

Were they trying to combat the Binny's sale? That is what spurred my purchases, but unfortunately their sale excludes Cellar & Allocated items. That meant my Quintessa wasn't available for 15% off, but at least I still got 10% off for the case.

Sparty, yes. It was at Malloy's - they are in Naperville, Glen Ellyn and Lisle. Only the Lisle store has the cellar room. It seemed they announced their sale a day or two after Binny's - where I also made some purchases.

All these damn sales are gonna kill me!

Planning ahead (at least 2 decades) for one of my daughters' wedding. Smile Frown (now I'm crying).

I know you are in early stages of planning but thought I'd just mention that I am available that day.

Just picked up a double magnum of 1987 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve in the distinctive colored bottle. It will be a nice display piece. I just hope the wine shows as well as its bottle. Smile

Have you had this or other vintages of it before? As part of dipping my toes into the Burgundy waters, I just bought the 2005 of this. It seemed like a good price at just under $20 at the JJ Buckley sale.

2x 200ml 2006 Jackson-Triggs Proprietors Reserve Vidal Icewine @ $12.50ea

Those in Ontario look for this deal at the Vincor Wine Rack Stores in Grocery Stores, it's probably at the winery too. I'm going back for another two bottles at lunch. The deal is listed as 2 for $24.95, great for gifting IMO. 375ml 2006 Cab Franc Icewine is also on for 2 for $49.95, which I'm currently debating. I've tasted both at the winery, though I didn't write down notes, I recall the Vidal being quite good, very viscus, very sweet and surprising high acidity level (in a good way), with typical apricot/mango notes. I don't remember as much about the Cab Franc (it was a long day), but that it had a slight flaw, maybe volatility or a medicinal note.
