. . .and you get a Caprese salad made with tomatoes that are exactly like those nasty winter-time plasticky toms, even though it's the start of summer 'mater season and ones you bought that morning at the farmer's market are ripe and tasty?
. . .and, salmon that the waiter says is wild looks and tastes exactly like every farmed salmon you've ever had?
Let it out people. . .

IB, you need to find a new restaurant, and fast.
The color alone of the salmon should tip you off, as well as the tomatoes in most cases.

Yes, the color was a tip-off. Nothing salmony-colored about the fish, had that tell-tale pale pinkish color. Straight outta Norway I'd say. BTW, the place wasn't our choice, the meal is paid for, as it was for a restaurant review, so .

I for one, only "b!tch slap" him when he has it coming.
I see no reason to bludgeon him for "this" particular post........

Then again, I'm smart enough to avoid ordering salmon in most restaurants............

Salmon- either restaurants are ignorant of wild salmon vs farm salmon or some just don't care and lie. Either way, I usually don't order Salmon either, you can't trust them.

Yeah, give Denny's a rest...

1. They refuse to bring your drink or wine order until you've ordered your meal.
2. They deliver your salad or appetizer and then keep trying to take it away with 3-5 minutes of delivering it. If you stop eating to say something at the table, they try to grab your plate without asking.
3. You have to take the wine bottle away from the waiter. He/She keeps overpouring the glass everytime you take a drink, as if it's a water glass.
4. The growing crowd at the door and bar area tells you they've rebooked your table 45 minutes after your booking.
5. The waiter brings your check, with the main course, before even asking if you want coffee or dessert. They just want you out of the chair, your 35 minutes are up.
I am pretty good natured but it did rub me wrong when this fruitcake waiter poured wine on my jeans and then said it was ok because they were jeans and then blamed it on the person who was sitting across from me for not finishing their wine. An oops sorry or my bad would have been fine.
Why do people punish themselves with salmon? I would not order salmon even if I had a buy one get one free coupon.

Sandy- these gripes sound like a common theme, no doubt from the same place? I hope you gave them an ear full! This is a recipe for self destruction; Quantity vs. Quality. IMO, a restaurant striving to "hit" a certain number of patrons in any given evening will sorely lose in the end; a missed opportunity for attracting the devoted long term quality customers.

I will just stick around and close the place down. Take in some of the local flavor and a little more wine as well. Maybe even take a little time to do tasting notes. I won't embarrass you too bad. Just wait 6-9 months to come back again to be safe.
