grun, these people don't live adventurously. I asked what they eat and don't eat, so I'm actually a bit embarassed about the dinner. First, broiled flounder with the 2004 Belle Glos Clark & Telephone Pinot Noir. Then grilled marinated skirt steak with wild rice with herbs and a 2001 Marquis Philips Shiraz 9. Dessert will be fresh fruit with the 2003 Christoffel Urziger Wurzgarten Auslese ***. I wanted to expand their horizons, but they like their food plain and without sauce. They're friends. What's a wino to do?

Funny thing is I actually had a sip of this wine today. It was one of the receptionist's birthday today and they opened this. They just handed me a cup. Pretty funny.

Sounds nice and I too think they will be amazed at the Auslese, particularly on the heels of the Shiraz.

We'll be doing a Md. Offline tomorrow night with a menu that is somewhat more adventuresome, but we won't be cooking it.

Hey, I'll take them any day over some misionary who feels the need to post his religious BS on a wine site.

Dinner went well, but I was amazed at how much the MP Shiraz 9 has quieted down since I had it last.
