To bring them some ice. “What is the soup du jour?"...It’s the soup of the day..."Mmmm, that sounds good, I’ll have that” - Lloyd Christmas |

Am I the only person whose mind jumped to the "You be the Umpire!" TV spots from the 1980's when they read the subject line?

I don't know if the guy who told me this story was blowing smoke up my rear, but I worked with a gentleman who says he had the pleasure of drinking a glass of wine with the great Robert Mondavi on one hot summer day is CA. He was telling me that he was suprised when he added a ice cube to his glass of red wine. When he asked why he did it he replied that it was simply too hot outside today to enjoy the wine without. The guy who told me the story seems reputable, but then again a lot of people are full of B.S. My opinion, to each their own as long as they can pay the tab. Oh, and bring them some ice, they're paying for it.

Sorry, I thought I posted it. Simply from the Som at Le Bec-Fin in Phila....."If the customer wants ice, simply ask if he/she wants a lot or a little...it's their money"
