Got a two week trip to New England coming up in October and wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions on must-sees and must-dos.
We're starting in Boston for about four days and then taking off to who-knows-where. Our initial thoughts after leaving Boston are to head out to Nantucket and/or Martha's Vineyard and head north to Maine, then over to New Hampshire/Vermont ending by way of western Mass and Salem (close to Halloween). We've also thought about Nova Scotia but aren't sure... The exact route and plans are a work in progress so any advice and suggestions would be much appreciated! Cheers, and Hook'em Horns !! |

In Portland Maine I highly recommend Hugo's, Duck Fat, and Cinque Terre.
When in doubt, open another bottle. |

Thanks din!
We have our itinerary set and maybe that will help with responses? We'll be staying four days in Boston, 2 in Portland, 2 in Lenox, 3 in Cape Cod (Brewster) and 1 in Salem close to Halloween. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated! Cheers, and Hook'em Horns !! |

Are you looking for where to eat or things to do? (or both)
Im assuming you like wine? Check out Excelsior, Grill 23 and Meritage in the Boston Harbor Hotel. None are suitable for children though.... For things to do: catch a Red Sox game if theyre in the playoffs, rent a bike on nantucket, hit the Lobster Trap Co. on the Cape if you like fried seafood.... |
