One of my close friends is re-building his kitchen. Does anyone have any suggestions for a $2k-$3k 6-burner gas range? (A 4-burner plus high-heat indoor grill is also acceptable.) The catch is that the range needs to have 2 ovens -- one full size, the other can be half-size. Any thoughts?

P.S. For what it is worth, the range he covets (and I covet) is this Unfortunately, he tells me this is about $7k.

This is a tough one. When we were shopping for a new range (a couple months ago) we found a real lack of options in the 2-3K price range. We didn't need two ovens, but wanted at 36" range with 6 burners. We ended up getting a range by a little-known company called "Peerless-Premier" that had a lot of the features of the upper-end ranges, including high btu sealed burners with low simmer settings. It's no Dacor, and you can definintely tell that the construction is not as solid, but it only cost us $1500 and cooks wonderfully.
The only two-oven range in that price I can think of is the Kenmore Elite 40" dual-fuel range (see Sears website). But the second oven is really small, and this is assuming dual fuel works for your friend (it didn't for us - old house, not enough AMPs for another electric appliance).
Since your friend is gutting the kitchen, can he/she possibly get a range with only one oven and fit in another wall oven somewhere else in the kitchen? Just an idea...

I've been looking around for a two oven range for our kitchen. If I was ready to buy now I would serioulsy consider the Imperial Range IR-4-G24. It can be found on the select appliance web site--www.selectappliance.com
I has all the features you friend is looking for as both ovens are the same size but only 4 burners with 24 inch griddle. It's ordinarily in the 6K range but is now marked down to $2900.
They say it's not for home use-but if properly vented and installed it would be a real buy as lots of folks put commercial ranges in their homes. My only hangup is the griddle which would get no use at my house.
