After a haircut and some errands I stopped at Taco Bell. Sorry to report the Enchirito has gone downhill, and the Crunchy Taco shell reminded me of those newfangled baked chips.

Wife and I are in NY for a few days. Went to Del Posto last night and ate in the enoteca. Nice 5 course prix fixe, insalata ventresca, orecchiette with rabbit, gnocchi al pesto, abbacchio alla griglia, and finished with roasted dates. Started with a glass of prosecco and enjoyed a nice 99 barbaresco with dinner. I’m blanking on the name now, so it wasn’t exactly a memorable wine, but it complimented dinner very well. The décor at Del Posto was really impressive, and most of the service was great. Our server struggled a bit, but I think that was an individual issue and not a restaurant issue. Based on our experience, I would recommend Del Posto.

After a golf tournament, I had a salad and a small piece of lasagne. I got home to find out that DnVsMom went to sushi after she played golf (she shot 81 today - I didn't, although I won my match), and lovingly brought me home a few pieces....

Just got back from a trip to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon...

Day 1
Lunch: In-and-Out Double Double Animal Style with French fries (a need that needed to be met for a long time)
Dinner: Fettucine alfredo

Day 2
Dinner: Orange Chicken with Rice and broccoli

Day 3
Lunch at the Arizona Room/Bright Angel lodge after a long hike on the South Kaibab trail: Smoked corn chowder (ok)
Shaved prime rib dip with fries...the sandwich itself tasted like an old philly cheesesteak minus the bell peppers and the fries tasted homeade...24 hours ago
Dinner: Wagon ride and campfire hotdogs and smores (life is good)

Day 4
Lunch: In-and-Out cheeseburger animal style and fries (couldn't handle a double double at the time)
Dinner at Tao in the Venetian: Crispy Lobster and Shrimp Dumplings with Ginger Jiang Kong Sauce (these were good)
Peking Duck Spring Roll with Hoisin Sauce (these were ok, in addition to the hoisin sauce, they had some other yellow mustard sauce that was ten times stronger than wasabi)
Wasabi Crusted Filet Mignon with Tempura of Onion Rings (the beef was good, nothing special)
Buddha’s Harmonized Vegetable Feast for the Minor Gods (this was the impressive dish of the night, you could taste the ginger and the lemongrass). I almost wished I would have kept my reservation at Bouchon instead of going here. Food was well executed and over priced but everyone comes for the atmosphere, right?

Day 5
Lunch: Le Village Buffet at the Paris hotel...another disappointment. This was suppose to be one of the better Vegas buffets. I wasn't expecting greatness but I thought maybe the food quality would be edible. They had dishes like ratatouille, beef bourgignon, seafood choppino, coq au vin but nothing was even "ok" status. If it wasn't 103 degrees outside, I would have eaten at Mon Ami Gabi. Or maybe I should have tried to find Lotus of Siam...

It sounds like you know where you are going for dinner, went to their website and premeditated the whole thing. I do that sometimes.

Just got back from an eating binge in New York last week. Del Posto Wednesday night, BLT Prime Thursday night, Cru Friday night and Gari Sushi on Saturday night. My wallet is a lot lighter and my pants are a bit tighter, but it sure was a lot of fun. Cool
