The fiancée and I had dinner here on Friday night. All I can say it... WOW!!!

I had my doubts as to how good this place is, but I left as a huge fan of the 21 Club. The food was outstanding, and the service (we ate in the Dining Room upstairs) was even better. The dining room was cozy and comfortable. It is a small room, which seats probably no more than 30 (I think there were only 7 tables).

To anyone who has never been... I'd recommend it... just bring your charge card.

So how much is it, and is it possible to eat there more cheaply pre-theatre or lunch?

At most NYC places, lunch is usually cheaper than pre-theater (I assume you mean prix-fix).

The 21 Club does have a prix-fix dinner for $37 (you have a choice of 2 appetizers, 3 entries, and 3 deserts). You can always order a la carte. The actual price depends on what you get. The wine list is VERY comprehensive, but bottle prices are usually about twice a wine store price.

Still, it's a definite "must try."
