What are your favorite food pairings with a dry Gewürztraminer?

Any specific dishes you can recommend or post would be appreciated.

Shellfish will work also, but one of my favorites would be a chicken stir-fry.

Pretty flexible wine that can go with a variety of lighter foods and can even take a bit spice/heat. If it's a really full-bodied Gewurtztraminer, like Z-H or Wienbach can make, it works very well with Muenster cheese, the riper the better.

The best I've had was a roasted butternut squash soup with ginger and pepper corn. Felt like it had bubbles.

Indonesian and Malaysian food which feature nutmeg, pepper, cloves, cinnamon, cumin, chiles, coconut milk, peanuts, shrimp paste and many other combinations of spices.


Also Thai cuisine which uses curry paste, turmeric, paprika, lemon, shallots, garlic, coriander, lemongrass and shrimp paste.

I've had gewurztraminer with chinese cusine: Swechwan chicken wings and shrimp fried rice; was good.

A dry Gewurtz would also work with roast pork.

My mother used to prepare a fine pork roast with garlic. Was so delicious. Think I'll try it with a gewurztraminer one day.

Could you suggest one?

Zind's more basic bottlings in the $20-$35 range are very good, or if you can find it in Chicago, Peninsula Cellars of Michigan (DUCK, incoming flame war!) makes a couple very nice Gewurtz's. Their basic one is around $14, and their Manigold is couple bucks more and well worth the $.
