Sounds a lot like what we've been saying these past 7 pages...could Tony be a lurker? Wink

One never knows Mneeley, if he is a lurker I have always enjoyed his critique of other chefs. Although this show does offer some humor

Danny seems a bit of a dark horse.
Quietly getting the job done. I expect he will make it to the last 4, but it looks like Giovanni is the favourite to win it.

Hiya ArieS Smile

I know who you are talking about, and when you see mental cases like that that are chosen out of thousands to compete and in his case pretend to be real chefs for Ramsey ,then you can see the freak show mentality that taint the proceedings, it ain't cooking anymore, it's the Gong show, and that is exactly why I stopped listening...

two cast offs tonight. Figured that Lacey was due to get bounced but LA for not stepping up, I guess she was fodder for Ramsey

Didn't expect a twofer. I don't think they've ever done that before.

I'll be glad to see the back of Lacey. LA was a surprise, but then I never had her pegged for the later rounds anyway.

Was it fair to penalise Ben for saying Sirloin instead of Filet Mignon? If he'd just said "beef" would he have got away with it?

I'd never heard of people eating pea tendrils before, so I googled it. Apparently they taste like spinach.

Ramsey is always searching for a fodder figure.

I like the show. It is good TV. My current boss is a combination of Gordon Ramsey and Bruno from "Dancing with the stars". I really understand.

One of the restaurants at Borgata closed for renovations for 12 weeks. I guess Ramsey will inherit it as he will place the new chef there and word on the street is that Ramsey's company will pay the salary of the new exec chef.

I just can't see any of those dolts running anything more complicated than a hotdog stand.
Real chefs must just cringe at watching this show, considering how much $$ the winner gets.

Paula would be my obvious choice to win it.

Paula, Danny and Giovanni not Giovanni will be the last 3 standing.
Giovanni is the only one showing any kind of leadership, but it's not working.

Danny and Paula seem very alike. They just get on with the job, and cook better than the rest, or so it seems.

We'll see Thursday. I have to think that Paula and/or Danny will surface as the best of the worst. I cannot for the life of me figure what Borgata restaurant either will be exec chef. It will have to be a new one. Stay tuned as I will report back after Sunday.

Has anyone visited Ramsey's West Hollywood restaurant to see if last years winner, Christina, is still there?

Simple, Brits hate "sucking up" and political correctness. Your level of PC and litigation is far more extreme. Monty Python still lives on in the UK!

OK not great but at least as good as any other reality based, thin the herd down to the alpha dog type of show can be.

How is it that the Brits can come up with this stuff and we poor Americans can't?

If you ever get chance to see the British version, the commentator is (or at least was for the first seasons) Angus Deayton.
You've probably never heard of him, but he's incredibly deadpan and sarcastic, and slightly aloof; a bit like Stephen Fry.
Sort of a Jon Stewart meets Ben Stein thing. Really adds an extra element. The US guy sounds like he should be on Animal Planet.

I watch it but the more I see of it the more disappointed I am. Down to 4 and I do not think that any one of them would make a head chef at any restaurant that I would frequent. Ramsey does not teach, any of the skills, other than making them learn cleaning, on their own. And I have seen so few that really impresssed me. I guarantee you, the winners do nothing for me to want to visit Ramsey's restaurants. And I would be surprised to find out that any of the past winners are even employed at Ramsey's restaurants. Unless in some very minor roles - making salads, peeling potatoes........

Ramsey also teaches communication but regardless, this is nothing but spoofy entertainment.

Down to 4 with Mr. NYker Robert out of there
