Ok. I know this was from like 6 years ago but that was funny. "The classic pairing....".  "A classic Bordeaux is just stunning with rice a roni too" Answer is any red wine you like will taste great with Macaroni and cheese. It's like asking what is the classic pairing with cheese doodles.

It depends on the cheese used. The macaroni is not material. For a sharp farmhouse cheddar, I like Pino Noir. For a gloucester, I like a Syrah. If it is a Blue, I like a sweeter wine like an 8% alcohol semi-sweet Riesling. Some like Fontina and an Italian Chardonnay. But, it really depends on the cheese. You may never go wrong with a Pino Noir.

Frankly, anything BEFORE mac & Cheese in sufficient quantity is PERRRRfect.
