Scoot- I lived there for a year when I was 30. Great town, fun place, but not known for culinary treats. Bars and beer are pretty good.

There is one very nice restaurant, it's called "L'etoile". Try the web site. I personally never ate there, but I heard good things.

Who loves you, baby?

Son went to University there, so we visited often. It's been 5 years, but for graduation celebration dinner had a wonderful meal at Nadia's. Upscale for Madison. Restaurant is on second floor of building on State Street, which is main street running between University and Capitol building. Lots of beer and brat places and other more casual places along State Street, but Nadia's is upscale if it is still open.

Nadia's is still open and the owner "Abdul" will make you anything you like with a little notice. Abdul is running a new place in Fitchburg: Tuscany Mediterranean Grill, another top-notch place.

Harvest on the square in Madison is a small eloquent place with excellent food and service.

The Blue Marlin also on the square has wonderfully prepared seafood with a nice wine list to match the food.

I think most would be pleased to dine at any of these places.

Thank you sir...may I have another ?
