I'm the first to rave about the great restaurants in Sonoma County, and they are great, especially the many fine spots in Healdsburg. Those of you coming to the area need to get reservations at Cyrus in Healdsburg. This is Sonoma's answer to Napa's French Laundry. Tops in food and service (and price), a great special event spot.
The front man is from Gary Denko and the SF Ritz, with same style but more Sonoma.
No, not a blog, just FYI for the forum. Already getting to be the special spot in northern Sonoma.

As I will be in town for an overnight with DnVsMom, and at the chance of incurring the wrath of others, I will ask anyway - casual (and how casual) or coat and tie?

it's business casual. I can't think of any restuarant in the bay area that's coat n' tie.

Thanks. I would agree, but DnVsMom at times thinks a bit different. I can see the look on her face as we get ready to go to The French Laundry and I am standing there in shorts and a golf shirt....

no tie needed, but a jacket makes you feel like you are worthy of the food. but if you don't have one with you, don't worry.

Isn't this dinner only. Or do they serve lunch?

Yes, it is closed on Tuesday. The night that DnVsMom and I will be in town.

Any other suggestions?

Here is a recent SF Chronicle article on Cyrus:

Dom,
Healdsburg is packed with good restaurants, but Tuesday is tough as it is the favorite night to be closed. My suggestions are Bistro Ralph, Charcuterie or Zin if you want to stay in Healdsburg.
If you are willing to go a few minutes down the road to Windsor, go to Mirepoix for some of the best food in the area, and an interesting and inexpensive wine list.
