Drinker,

I respectfully disagree.

I thought the reunion show was really lame...almost nothing about competition or cooking, but all about personalities...and dysfunctional unappealing personalities at that.

I really enjoyed this show in the past, but it seems each year the show spends less time on cooking and more on trivial interpersonal bickering. That may be entertainment to some, but I enjoy the competitive cooking emphasis of the earlier seasons.

Time for Iron Chef!

My comments were more directed at the show over the season. I thought this single episode was ok, and shed some light on the individuals.

I do agree completely that this show ought to re-focus on the food, the techniques, etc., and less on the cursing and in-fighting in the kitchen. It is in fact a "food-cooking" show and not "reality tv" ala Paris Hilton, etc.

The reunion show was very lame. It seemed forced and none of them wanted to be there. That host was awful (worse than Padma Razz) and only seemed to bring on more drama. Good for Stephanie winning fan favorite...so excited for her.

I didn't want to start another similar thread, but is anyone watching Food Network's copy of Top Chef,The Next Network Star show?

Same general format. I haven't watched it enough to know if I like it as well, better or less. Based on the first show that I saw I am not convinced I will have this set on my TIVO.

Haven't seen any of it this year ... (has it started already?). Last season was the first I watched, and I found it good enough for weekly viewing, but not quite as interesting as Top Chef. Last year's The Next Food Network Star focused more on the food than this year's Top Chef did ... hopefully they stick with the food, and less with the personalities.

I missed last night's episode, but since they re-run them every day, it doesn't matter. Smile

Lisa seems to best the best cook.

Kelsey is the "perkiest"

Aaron seems like a good guy, but his "on camera" seems a bit deer-in-the-headlights like at times.

Thank goodness Jen is gone. Man, they kept saying how great her persona was. What? What? Talk about a doofus....

Down to 3.
Lisa is the best cook by far. She is from Dallas. Smile

Aaron. Something really good about this guy. He seems to be the judges favorite due to his potential. He just has struggled with the camera.

Adam. Funny guy. There is talent there, but he could be a train wreck in the kitchen. His organization skills seem pretty weak, but he has heart and passion despite the fact the judges question the latter.

My money is on Lisa unless she lets herself beat herself.

Any bets on tonight's winner of the Next Food Network Star?
