Is it just me, or do the cantaloupes seem extra good this year. I've had ones grown in Nebraska, California and Indiana, and all have been just incredible. I've always thought HOT weather brings out the best in melons, but maybe it really has been the mild temps this summer (at least in the midwest)?
How has the Texan crop been, where it's been blazing from what I understand?

Georgia's 'lopes and watermelons were extremely good this year. At the same time, thier peach crops suffered.
When I lived in Gainesville, Fla, they grew some of the best 'lopes galias and honeydews I have ever had. There was one farm, in particular, that grew a varuety of honeydew that was truly amazing. They were small but never had them so good before.

I love the corn and cantaloupe here in IN....hey, we have wine as well! I have had both from all over and I have to say, there is not a better cantaloupe then the Decker melons grown in IN.
