My guests don't enjoy white wine so what can I serve with crab bisque that won't overpower it? Also, find Indian food difficult to pair with the preponderance of spice. I need a fruity well balanced red to go with my curries. Any ideas?

Crab bisque can work well with Amontillado Sherry, not exactly a dry white wine. Indian food, if not too spicey, can work with a Cru Beaujolais, if spicey a Beaujolais Villages.

If your guests don't or won't drink white wine I'd find some others that do. I wouldn't hang out with people that are that closed minded about wine. Otherwise I wouldn't serve crab bisque with red wine. As far as Indian food if it's vegetarian I'd go with a with a gewurztraminer from alsace.
