Did two pork tenderloins yesterday. One was grilled with an Alton Brown recipe, while the other was a pulled pork.

I've always used pork shoulder for pulled pork in the past, but my sister in law made this for a graduation party and it was simple and delicious:

Pork tenderloin in a crockpot on low setting (6-8 hours). Add one can of root beer and let it work. The tenderloin eventually falls apart, then you shred it with your fingers or two forks. Add in your favorite BBQ sauce and mix thoroughly. I wouldn't have believed a tenderloin would shred if I didn't see it myself. There is hardly any fat or connective tissue in a tenderloin - I thought it would turn to leather, but it did not. It couldn't be any easier to make.

Been away for a wedding, so I have some catching up to do.

Thursday - Grilled marinated flank steak with cherry tomatoes, arugula, red onion and shaved parmesan, and the first fresh from the garden Caprese salad of the year. 2005 St. Clement Cabernet Sauvignon Armstrong Ranch.

Friday at the rehearsal dinner - grilled tri tip, grilled chicken breast, cole slaw, white bean chili, bulgar wheat salad. 2005 Shelter Cabernet Sauvignon.

Saturday night after the wedding - poached sea bass, green salad, cous cous. 2008 Château Lamothe de Haux Blanc and 2006 Beringer Vineyards Chardonnay Sbragia Limited Release.

Last night back at home - grilled bacon cheeseburgers, macaroni salad, and watermelon. 2008 Etude Pinot Noir Rose and 2005 St. Clement Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tonight, dinner at our favorite Greek place, probably for a Greek salad and grilled seafood.

Mañana, dinner at The Western Art Gallery Restaurant in Wall, South Dakota. I'm not expecting Per se.

Just one more sip.

Does Wall Drug still exist out there?

I remember traveling west with my family as a kid and, for miles and miles, there were huge signs for Wall Drug. Turned out to be nothing special at all!

The Western Art Gallery Restaurant is owned by Wall Drug. We have three weeks planned with mostly fine dinners, so we thought we'd have a laugh and see the place. We'll be in the Badlands and Wall is right near the northern border.

Just one more sip.
