PT, I do chicken thighs on the grill, but they need to be done by indirect medium heat.
Just one more sip.

That's pretty hard to do!! I do chicken thighs on the grill quite often. As B-O mentioned, you need to use indirect heat. I put the thighs on the grill, shut the lid, and forget about them for 35 minutes...perfect every time.

You should have seen my first time grilling duck breasts. I almost lost my eybrows.

I only do duck breasts in a pan. With all the fat, I can only imagine the inferno.
Just one more sip.

Actually, I was using indirect heat as I always do. I still haven't figured out exactly what went wrong, but a big part of the problem was getting distracted and cooking for over an hour, rather than the 40 minutes I usually do. The best I can figure is the grease pooled somewhere while overcooking, caught on fire and eventually incinerated the chicken. I haven't yet summoned up the courage to grill anything else. But I will, cuz charred animal flesh is just too damn good to do without!

Yes, a completely rookie mistake. I've since moved them indoors, and wear a welding mask.

Maybe indirect heat and a drip pan for the oil would work? quote: Originally posted by Purple Teeth: Attempted rosemary chicken thighs, but they were a little overcooked - actually they were incinerated beyond recognition. Ended up having salami and cheese with a Hamacher rose of Pinot Noir.

My best effort was the time I tried out my new rotisserie on the barbecue. Why not try chicken?, thought I. After a nice prep, including skewering the legs nicely onto the torso, I put 'er in. Things looked great until about 20 minutes in when the legs came unskewered. As chickie slowly rotated the drumstick would drop down and drag across the lava rocks, and catch fire. Have you seen those sci-fi movies where there is a meteor headed towards earth? Well, just add a couple of drumsticks, and THAT'S MY DINNER!!
Are we contributing to global warming?

I prefer bee. They are very crunchy when properly grilled. The little effers won't hold still, though..... PH
