Don't want to go all Francis on you boys, but the Patagonian Toothfish is on MBA's Avoid List.

Good thing we live in NY and Monterey is far far away! Sides, who eats fish from an aquarium anyway? =)

Had some raw baby carrots and a little chow mein. Still no wine.

We have a t-ball BBQ party tonight, so I am guessing grilled hot dogs. I am feeling better, so a cold one might be in order, and maybe I'll open up a nice sauv blanc once I get home and sit in the backyard in the 100 degree heat....

DnVD-

I think that makes 3-4 nights with no red meat or wine. Are you OK? Big Grin

Pan-seared scallops, followed by something I'll think up to do with marinating tuna steaks.

Just one more sip.

Nice! Did the '05 show more depth of fruit or more mineral than normal? I'm thinking deep black cherry. Cool

TIA.

I was actually disappointed by this bottle. There was some black cherry, but everything came across as overripe and out of balance. I got a good shot of heat on the nose and finish. I’m going to let my other bottle sleep for a while and hope things round out.

Back in the saddle!!!

Friday night - grilled hot dog and cheeseburger at the T-Ball party. The burger was really good....

Saturday night - a big fat rib-eye and sauteed mushrooms - '02 Neal Cab - fantastic!

Last night - the in-laws had us over for dinner. Guess what the M-I-L got at the store? Yup, rib eyes! Added some white corn and a Thai noodle salad. '05 Stags' Leap Winery Cab....

Then I got home after dinner, and put some chicken on the grill for my lunches this week....

Been sick for the last little while as well so have been making cream of mushroom and butternut squash soup.

Last night, started to feel better so had mother in law over dinner. Brined pork chops with Apple in molasses and cider vinegar sauce. Served with asparagus, mashed potato and a Coonawarra Riesling.
