This is a bit of a fishing expedition, but Google didn't help and I am really curious.

Philippe Buttin was the sommelier for a number of years at Joel in Atlanta, then left in ~2006 to take the sommelier position at Le Bernardin in New York. He joined Eric Asimov and crew in early 2007 to do a panel review of South African chenin blancs, where we has described as the "former" sommelier at Le Bernardin. I cannot find any mention of him after that date.

Philippe was an amazing asset to winelovers in Atlanta and made the experience at Joel truly special. His passion for South African wines was inspiring and he always helped me to expand my palate and explore hidden gems.

I am curious if anyone here knows where he is today?

I don't have the answer, but I wonder if he possibly hooked back up with Joel in NYC.
