my farmers market gobi-aloo inspired goulash Smile

  • toast about 1tbsp cumin seed in a saucepan
  • add olive oil and about 6 cloves of chopped garlic until lightly brown,
  • add 2 cipollini onions roughly chopped with 1 serranno chili,
  • add fresh basil, parsley and tarragon
  • top with 3 cups of chopped heirloom roma tomatoes,
  • add 1/4 cup of '05 Domaine des Espiers Gigondas or whatever's open, 1 cup water, bring to boil,
  • add 1 separated cauliflower, 1 chopped zucchini, 1 chopped summer squash.
  • Let cook at a low boil and mix occasionally to break up tomatoes.
  • Cook for about 30min, stir once more. Tomatoes should be almost like a paste rather than a sauce, coating everything.
  • Let it sit for another 1/2 hour so the flavors can have sex together, eat lukwarm with flatbread. ooh!

Last night was a meat and cheese plate, along with a nice Kim Crawford sauv blanc. We picked up a great variety of different cheese's at Wine Library on Sunday, and enjoyed it with some fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, Boar's Head turkey, and Water Crackers. Great snacks out on "The Bistro" as we like to call the sidewalk in front of our house. All our neighbors actually have bistro tables out front now, and it's almost like eating on the street in NYC...or the French Riviera.....well, maybe not, but it's still fun to have dinner out front with all of the neighbors....lunch today - Slimfast! LOL!

It's Thursday, so we're off to Delorenzo's Tomato Pies on Hudson Street in Trenton. It's our Thursday night "date" to get us geared up for the weekend. And it's BYOB so that is a bonus. For me, it'sll be sausage and sweet peppers, and the wife's half will be just sweet peppers. Now to decide what to drink with that...hmmmmmm...

Tonight is usually a pizza night, but I had pizza for lunch, so I am making this new recipe I saw on Better.tvfor an easy noodle recipe. That's perfect, because I too exhausted to make anything else...

We've got a wedding tonight and I put down the filet. Hopefully it doesn't come out well done and dry!
