My wife (who's an Aussie native) is making her incredible rack of lamb, with garlic cloves and rosemary part of the marinade... cooked on the barbie, of course! Also, green salad w/lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, orange/red/yellow sweet peppers, walnuts, almonds, and Annie's Shiitake & Sesami Vinaigrette Salad dressing (good stuff!).
Pairing with a 2003 Greenock Alice's Shiraz and a 2005 Mollydooker Carnival of Love. Can't do this everyday, of course, but with tomorrow being a holiday and with my Oregon Ducks winning their first game of the season I thought it was reason enough to celebrate ------------------------- "I don't want to manage my cellar... red, we haven't been to The Station House in a few years. What are they charging for lobsters now?

B-O 27 bucks for the 1 1/2 pound lobster. If you get there before 6 pm you can get the early bird special price which is about 3 bucks less. I usually enjoy this place a lot but today the lobster was a little chewy. Have you been to the Station Grill across the street? I have not. I was told they have good steaks. |

We get fresh lobsters up here pretty easily, which is why we haven't gone to The Station House for years. Our favorite place for seafood in the area is City Oyster in Delray. We usually go to dinner about 9 PM when some of the places aren't too crowded, but City Oyster is pretty full at that hour, especially in the winter.
Just one more sip. |

Lots of pork yesterday, dry rubbed baby backs for lunch then had the smoker going all day with a pork shoulder over applewood and bourbon oak.
Yesterday I also marinated up my first Jerk Chicken to cook today, looking and smelling great! Lifes too short to drink bad wine!! crownliquors.net / msprinkle@crownliquors.net |

Pork chops medium rare, served with jacket potatoes laced with a crème made of goat cheese, sour cream and finely chopped fresh rosemary. Nice and simple. I love the lamb/goat cheese/rosemary combo.
Went with a 2002 Cupano Rosso di Montalcino (TN here ). //Anders ------------------------------- http://nettareegioia.wordpress.com ...e in auree coppe versi, copiosamente, nettare e gioia [Sappho] |

Had my final triathlon of the season on Sunday, so I needed to carb-load on Friday and Saturday.
Friday night was basil-cheese stuffed chicken breasts over pasta with my homemade tomato/basil sauce. Saturday was just pasta and left over sauce. Sunday (after the race) we pepperoni and cheese stromboli. Last night was bavby back ribs following the recipe in the Summer Grlling Guide in Cooks Illustraded. Man, thse guys just can't go wrong!!! Go HOKIES!!! |

Last night was lobster, shrimp, and sausage paella with fresh peas, peppers, and saffron. Absolutely awesome and from the Barefoot Contessa cook book. YUM!
Had this out on our front sidewalk, aka "The Bistro" with some neighbors and did a blind sauv blanc tasting....and guess which one was the favorite? Nope...wasn't the Kim Crawford...it was the Charles Shaw...what are the odds? What is this world coming to? The wife and I were the only ones that knew!
