Made Crispy Trout with Caper Aioli Sauce served with Chevre Orzo and Asparagus. Paired with 2001 Karl Erbes Urziger Wurzgarten Kabinett, one of my favorite cheap 2001 Rieslings at about $10 per. What are you guys having?

merris, how was the pairing?
i don't usually reach for a bottle of german Riesling when i think of trout, unless it's a dry one(Riesling, not trout Wink). try it with a white Rhone next time.

i had pan-fried garlic/rosemary/lemon/marjoram/olive oil marinated salmon with jasmin rice and bokchoy with '97 DeLoach OFS Pinot(a bargain!).

This actually worked well but more because of the preparation than the trout. The caper Aioli sauce had enough spice and acidity that it went very well. The recipe can be found at foodtv.com. Search for Crispy Colorado Trout under the recipes. I definitely recommend it. Wink

grunhauser;
How was the '97 OFS PN? There's quite a bit of it still floating around these parts at bargain prices. Had you held it for some time or was it a recent purchase?

Kybo, both, some old and some new. i certainly like the more recent prices - $ 7.99 or so. they show the same qualities - soft, fruity, mildly oaked Pinots. very good with food.

Merris.....I like adding some wine in the preparation of fish and I think some of that riesling would have been a dandy ingredient also.
