Grilled tilapia with grilled squash and zucchini. Had a '07 Robert Mondavi Sauvingon Blanc Private reserve, not bad for $10.

We went out for sushi last night at our favorite local place. Never disappoints.

Grilled marinated chicken thighs (Yoshida's sauce and sambal paste), rice, green salad. '05 Wynn's Coonawara Riesling (VA, yuck, dumped), then tried an '03 Cliff Lede Mt. Veeder Chard. Didn't work at all. Finished dinner with water. Drank the chard watching the Giants beat the Padres....

Nothing better than homemade mac n cheese. Cool

I did a quick turn around trip yesterday to Vegas for a friend’s birthday. Went to Cut in the new Palazzo. I had the bone-in filet with a side of tempura battered onion strings. They grill their steaks over charcoal and finish them in a 1200 degree broiler. The flavor this method imparts is amazing. I’m usually not a huge fan of high end steakhouses because I feel I can make a steak nearly as good at home, but this place was on another level. The wine list was of course way overpriced, but there was a good mix of wines in all price ranges as well as some thoughtful wines on the by the glass list. I highly recommend this place if your in town and feel like challenging your heart and wallet. Wink

Sounds good, GlennK.

After three nights of food and drink I'm ready to just have some salad or a pizza or something simple.

A real nice weekend....

Friday night was lots of grilled meat at the club. Kobe flank steak topped with a gorgonzola sauce, lamb chops, beef shoulder with a chimichurri sauce. Mashed potatoes with cheese and crumbled bacon. A couple different salads and some steamed veggies....

Saturday night we had a neighborhood BBQ. Shrimp skewers, pork spare ribs, tri-tip. Baked beans, salads, twice baked potatoes....

Last night was the typical Sunday fare. Grilled chicken and a couple different sausages. Red beans and rice. A salad of mixed baby greens with sliced strawberries, raspberries, red onion, and crumbled bleu cheese in a white balsamic vinaigrette....

Last night we wrapped halibut, zucchini and asparagus in parchment paper and baked them in the oven. Paired with some NV Taittinger. Nice end to the week.

Yup, yup. What about corn and red potatoes????

Tried something new tonight. Rigatoni tossed with sliced hot links, red onion, and zucchini, finished with white wine vinegar and dijon mustard. Sprinkled fresh oregano. Not too bad. Finished up last night's Noceto Sangiovese with it....
