Jalapeno cheddar buffalo brats on a hoagie with red, yellow and orange peppers (can't believe I didn't have any green ones) and black bean soup with a link of the buffalo brats mentioned above. Nothing like cold weather comfort food while watching the boys of summer tonight.

Moo

Your share of the national debt has increased by $6,180 from 10/1 - 9/30/09. Have you told your kids and grand kids they will be paying back your share in addition to their own?

My buddy and newish forum member Gkapoor is in London on business so we met up last night at our favorite local Spanish restaurant, Cambio de Tercio. This place never disappoints and is even better because it’s literally 15 steps from my flat.

We started with the 2006 Domaine Francois Villard Condrieu Les Terrasses du Palat as an aperitif at our place. Really loving Rhones whites at the moment and this was another nice example why.

At the restaurant we started with some shared tapas of ham and cheese croquettes, fried squid and a big plate of Iberian jamon. With this we enjoyed the 2006 Emilio Moro which was really nice, but got blown out of the water by the 2006 Clos Mogador that came after (note posted).

For mains I had the suckling pig, Mrs. Glennk went for some crispy chicken with eggplant chips and Gkapoor had what I think is the best thing on their menu right now, braised veal cheeks with an apple sauce/foam. Ridiculously good.

Always a good time when Mr. Kapoor is in town. Cool

Got home earlier than expected and am halfway through a bottle of white that is so good I may have to kill the whole bottle. I am thinking veggie stir fry. Cabbage, radish, carrot, chive and whatever else with an egg, sirrocho, sesame oil, coconut oil and some tamari. I like that idea.

DnVsMom made jambalaya last night. Great for a stormy night - three inches of rain and gusts pushing 55 mph is pretty serious stuff around here.
