Has anyone been to their N. Southport location about 5 or so blocks from Wrigley Field in Chicago recently? I hear that their pastries and coffees are excellent. The other location is on North Lincoln Ave. The Southport location looks more convenient to the Renaissance hotel where we are staying for Otis' CDP party. If I am mistaken please let me know. Thanks for any info.

Great places with good coffee and pastries. Neither location is convenient to the Renaissance hotel. The Southport location is definitely closer, but it's a good 20-30minute cab ride away from downtown. IMO, this doesn't really represent a destination in Chicago, more of a neighborhood type place. If you are going to Wrigley and want to check out Meinl the Southport one is the way to go.

Grossie,

Thanks for the heads up. I think we can get pretty close to it, by taking the Redline. I wasn't planning on going to Wrigley, but it looked like the best one of the 2 to go to.

The Southport stop gets you about 2-3 blocks south of meinl along a lively strip of Southport.
