Hello/
new to this forum and site
Currently in a restaurant business, close relations with wine, etc. Looking for a job in California, Oregon at the winery, long-term plans to go to UC Davis, too. First, need a job to move to get me started. Problem is- don`t excactly now where to look out there and how. Any tips would be EXTREMELY appreciated.

Inside the tasting room the number one tip:
Be willing to work for free.

In the winery these skills are door openers:

Ability to lift heavy things, at least 60 pounds, 100 (empty barrel) is better.

Certified forklift operator.

Speak Spanish.

Willing to clean anything. Working in a commercial kitchen is actually a good thing, shows you are willing to clean.

The best thing you can do is start sending out notes to small wineries asking for work. You may get lucky.
