I was given a bottle of a "sparkling merlot". How do I serve this? Cold like traditional champagne or warmer as if it were truly a merlot? Sorry if this is an inane question- I don't usually drink champagne so I am out of my depth here. Thanks

Start out with the wine very well chilled, just as with champagne. You may find it'll pick up additional flavor as it warms a little bit. Add add'l chilled wine to glasses as needed. Good luck.

Serve it as you would a champagne, cold and as an aperitif.

I would have it chilled in the refrigerator at least overnight and then take it out 15-20 minutes before serving just to take a bit of the chill off. Not sure this will be very good (never tried or seen a sparkling merlot) but agree with PH that it should pick up additional flavor if it's not quite so cold.
