Your climate, mostly the humidty, may create a problem for you. Do you have a college or University near by? Perhaps you could ask for a few moments of time with a botanist or professor of agriculture to get some hints. Have fun. There is no question you will be able to grow grapes - it has been said, "The grapevine will grow where nothing else will." The ability to produce anything approaching a "fine" wine is questionable, but iof you are willing to study and work at it, who knows?

CDR is right, while you're working with the university, you should have soil testing performed. This will lead you into what you should plant. Vitis Vinifera can root over 30 feet depending on Varietal. So soil will be important to get proper vine balance. Also, buy a book or two, you will need it;-)
